I’m horrible at doing those “take and post a picture every day” challenges, Horrible. I know this because I’ve signed up to do this and failed at it for about three years now. But I had that in mind and also some posts I had seen before of people who tried to take a picture every hour for one day. I thought this one might be easier…and I think the results were kinda interesting. This is our Sunday through pictures:
Pancakes, the kind with baking soda and baking powder for extra fluffiness.(I make them once a week, usually on Saturday or Sunday.)
When I started taking pictures for this day I laid down some ground rules for myself. First rule: take a picture of whatever you happen to be by whenever the next hour strikes. I happened to be near our nature table which has gone from what it used to be into what it is now: a leaf dish with assorted nature finds that the girls put down after our walks. It works for us.
My computer charger is broken right now so the mister and I are sharing a computer. I happened to be strongly suggesting that it might be my turn when I took this picture. As you might be able to tell- I was being ignored at the time.
About to get caught up on the dishes that mysteriously appeared right before I took this picture. Very strange.
All people jump on social media sites the second they’ve finished a task, right? Browsing twitter at 12… actually more like 12:10 because I forgot to take a picture right at 12.
I had a peanut butter/banana open sandwich at noon like a normal person. No one else was hungry until one. If I had thought about it yesterday I would’ve made something to go with the England vs Italy theme as we’re going to watch the game after we eat. The only thing slightly English about these plates is the Phinas and Ferb fruit snacks. It’s the thought that counts? My husband is eating his pancakes now because he doesn’t like eating breakfast when he wakes up.
At two about to make a coffee…I could have taken a picture of the coffees but instead you got a slightly strange looking me. You’re welcome. (England game is also going on)
This is cheating because I completely forgot to take a picture for three. I was mostly just messing around on the internet and watching the game though so you didn’t miss much. Also I labeled this photo wrong. Yay me!
Close up of the kid. You only get a close up because sometime between 2:30 and now the kids decided walking around in only their skivvies was a good idea. I couldn’t really argue their thinking as it was too hot to go outside anyway.
At 5:00 I had two pictures that I could have used. I originally took a picture of the chicken I was thawing for supper but then my husband began yelling at me from his office. This is a picture of me and him reflected in his computer monitor that he claims I somehow froze. This is silly because everyone knows that computers freeze on their own. I just always happen to be the last person to go on one before that happens. Ahem.
Chicken dinner.
After dinner walk as the temps are now a comfortable 97 degrees Fahrenheit. Gizmo is watching ants while the kid and my husband walk ahead.
We’ve just gotten home and the kid took this picture for me. It’s a little late but only by nine or ten minutes. I think.
I’ve spent the last two days looking for my lost cell phone which I’m pretty sure is in the house but dead. I just found all of these items..but no phone. I actually got the biggest hug in the history of hugs for finding that bug book though- the kid has been trying to find it forever. I blame all lost items on evil pixies. They are also why we hardly ever have matching socks. Do not be fooled by their cuteness.
The kids begged to stay up and watch a movie with us…fell asleep pretty much as soon as the movie started.
It’s kind of impossible for me to take pictures of myself asleep so I’m calling this a day at this point.
Okay, here’s one more. This is what I look at before I go to bed every night. It’s my inspiration wall for the book I’m working on and it’s a work in progress. So there’s that. What I’m taking away from trying this is how many things you can’t capture during a day-even when you are taking a picture an hour. I think I’d like to try this again, maybe a year from now if I am able to.
