The same day that I made the Hello Kitty PBJ rolls I also made a few shaped buns. I used the same recipe but shaped the rolls by hand after the first rise. I used peanuts and pistachio shells to make indentations in the bread and let them rise once more before baking with the peanuts and shells still in.
This is a fun teddy bear lunch that I made with a few of the rolls:
The sandwich has a line of GoVeggie vegan cream cheese in the middle and Cascadian strawberry fruit spread on the rest of the roll. I used fruit spread, vegan cream cheese, a food safe marker and a tiny bit of chocolate frosting to decorate my bear. The indentations really helped keep everything in place. The girls also had some strawberries, carrots, a few pickles and a handful of puffin dry cereal to munch on. I didn’t think the pickles went with the lunch but my girls have been begging for me to add them to their lunches-I was pickle crazy when I was younger too so I kind of understand.(Now I only like them when I’m having a veggie burger!)
