I should say my youngest kid turned five but I don’t want you to think that I’m suffering from “my baby is growing up way too fast” blues over here.
Not too badly anyway.
I’m not really sure why it’s taken me so long to write this but I am still sharing a computer and my husband has been very busy adding free fonts to Dafont lately.
(That was my shameless and totally random linking to Goblin King’s current projects plug, hope you don’t mind.)
Mostly I’m a horrible blogger.
That being said I’d like to share a little of my littlest’s day with you.
I had a table decoration ready and awaiting her.
This is fancy for us, usually we stick with a banner and balloons.
I had actually made this for a birthday party we planned on giving Giz last week but that has been moved to November.
The jack o’latern theme dint seem appropriate for a November party but fine for a day of at home birthday fun.
As Gizmo loves baking I let her help me make her birthday cake and the cupcakes I wanted to take by my parents later. (Which is not a mean thing to do despite what Goblin king thought about it!)
I also let her help me decorate. We faltered between making a cute monster cake,a pumpkin cake even a sugar skull cake like the one we saw here which Gizmo had loved on sight.
In the end we went with Ghosts as our theme.
Ghosts because Gizmo loved the idea of a big mommy ghost and a lot of little baby ghosts following her.
After picking up the Kid from school and going by my parents house(Grandpa and Grandpa Puente) we came home and opened presents with my daughters’ other grandparents(Grandma Rose,Grandpa Nigel who live in England) via webcam.
We wrapped the day up by having dinner at Mr Gatti’s and then coming back home for cake and a few more presents.
It was a really great day and Gizmo seemed to enjoy it a lot.
You can see a little of my decoration making and our cake making below.
