and a Happy New Year!
I think a lot of us will be taking bloggy breaks and I I’m definitely going to be one of them! I’m going to use this time to get centered, get organized(again) plan for next year and just spend quality time with my family.
This Christmas will be remembered for so many great reasons. I not only got to hang out with my family and eat great food, I got to get acquainted with our newest family additions-Jose and Baby D.
Jose and my niece Claudia are newlyweds and I think they make a fantastic couple. We wish them any, many years of wedded bliss!
D is one of the sweetest little babies that I’ve seen in a long time. She is my nephew Brian’s daughter. I joked that she was giving all the women in the room baby fever and seriously, how could she not?
We also got to visit with my nephew Brandon and his son C, who must have grown about a foot or two since we last saw him.
It was definately a fun night but I don’t think I was the only one who found it hard to stay awake til midnight.
Gizmo could barely keep her eyes open but once we got home it took her a while to fall asleep.
Regardless of that, she was the first to wake up ready to open more presents. We got to talk to my Mother and Father in law for a little bit on webcam and also say hi to my sister in law and her precious baby. It is a little hard having them all the way in England during the holidays but we really hope we can see them all again soon.
It was a pretty lowkey day for us- We stayed in all day and watched a lot of the Indiana Jones marathon coming on and put together toys and played with the kids. I fixed oven fried chicken for dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy and we got to enjoy some really good Thornton’s chocolates afterwards. I had lit a couple of candles for our table and the Kid turned off all of the lights to be funny. We protested at first but I made a comment about how people used to eat by only candlelight a long time ago and that made the girls want to try doing that, so we did. It ended up being pretty neat in the end, but we did turn them back on after dinner- I wasn’t quite prepared to do a pioneer night yet! (Yes, I did have to promise that we would try that out soon- so I better start planning I think.)
I really hope that you and yours are doing well and I wish you all the Happiest of Holidays! I should be back on January the 4th.:)
I’m leaving you with this song from my niece and nephew, they sang it for us yesterday and I am having a proud auntie moment.
