I’m really, really hoping that they do.
My daughters, mainly my oldest, has been making ATCs (artist trading cards)and would really like to trade with someone.
We were in a private swap at swapbot but she never received one in return. I guess I might be getting ahead of myself…
First,what is an ATC?
I’m going to borrow the definition from Jerry’s Artarama:
“Artist trading cards (commonly referred to as ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create, trade and collect art at organized “swap” events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5″ × 3.5″.
The movement started in 1997,by M. Vanci Stirnemann, a Swiss artist, who created 1200 cards by hand as part of an exhibit. On the last day, he invited others to create their own cards and trade with him during the closing reception. (I had read somewhere that the cards might have started even before this, that Renaissance painters used to make the cards to serve as business cards for themselves but then began to trade them with other artists.)
What I love about Artist Trading Cards is that anything goes. You do have to make sure the card is x but after that the type of medium that you use and even what you use the make the card is up to you. (You can also buy artist trading cards already made and just decorate them. You can even start with a playing card and cover it with your own artwork.
So now that you know what an ATC is if you think your child would like to take part in a swap please contact me at squidmomblog at gmail.com.
I’d like you to please send me your child’s (children’s)name or nickname, age and interests. (Favorite color,TV show,book,movie,food,sport..etc.)
If we have enough people respond I hope to match your child by age with someone else. (or my daughters)
I ask that you send your ATCs to me and the same amount of postage that it cost you to send it to me,so that that I can send one back to you.(It should cost one stamp, maybe two based on the background you chose for it.)
If you are interested please let me know in the comments and send me an email to the address listed above.
Really hope the response is good on this!

Hi, if it’s not too late, my 10 year old would like to participate. I think it’s terrible that someone will participate in a child’s swap and not follow through. I’m a member of Swapbot also. Let me know if you would like to arrange it on there. I followed you from AyanaRed’s blog and I am already a Youtube subscriber of yours. Didn’t know you blogged. Glad I found you.
Good day!

Hi Adriann!
It’s not too late at all, thank you! And thank you for subscribing to me on YouTube too, I appreciate that. I’ve only had trouble on swap bot once before and this was a private swap- it was just unfortunate that my kid got flaked on,I’d rather have had it be me any day. How do I find you on Swap bot? We could definitely do this on swap bot-
Thank you!
